Central Election Commission: 57.3% voters attend elections

The Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan said 57.3% of the eligible voters had already cast their votes at elections as of 1 pm Sunday.

Briefing journalists in Tashkent, CEC chairman Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov said over 8,400 voting stations opened at 6 am across the country for the elections of the deputies of the Legislative Chamber and the local people’s deputies’ councils.

Students vote for the first time

Voters in Tashkent are participating in the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the city people’s deputies’ council.

At the voting station No.477 of Shaykhantahur district, almost 1,380 citizens living in Urda mahalla are registered. 66 of them are young men and ladies participating in the elections for the first time.

First voters in Karakalpakstan

The elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Joqargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan and city and district people’s deputies’ councils started at all voting stations in Karakalpakstan.

“All required conditions for the free expression of the will of the voters have been created,” chairman of the fourth Ernazar-Olakuz district election commission Kalboy Alimov said. “More than 10,000 voters are registered in our district.”
