Newly elected parliament of Karakalpakstan holds first session

The first session of the newly elected Joqargy Kenes (Supreme Council) of the Republic of Karakalpakstan was held on 15 January.
The deputies elected at the 27 December and 10 January elections, representatives of the central bodies of the People’s Democratic Party, Liberal Democratic Party, Adolat Social Democratic Party and Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party participated in the session.
They considered the results of the elections, as well as election of the chairman of the Joqargy Kenes and appointment of the chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan.
Deputy from the election district No.84 Musa Erniyazov was elected chairman of Joqargy Kenes.
Bahadir Yangibayev was appointed as the chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the session of the Karakalpak parliament.
