CEC Announced the Current Results of Voting

Today, at 8 pm Tashkent time, voting at the polling stations on the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan completed. The voting at the polling stations established at representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Europe and in the USA continues.

 

According to the preliminary data, more than 18 million 928 thousand voters took part in the elections, which is more than 91 percent of the total number of voters included in the lists.

 

These data were stated by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan M.Abdusalomov at the briefing for international observers, representatives of domestic and foreign media at the Republican press centre for the election coverage.

 

It was noted that the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held open and in a transparent manner in compliance with all international democratic norms and principles enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, laws on the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and on guarantees of electoral rights of citizens.

 

Currently, count of votes separately for each candidate being held at the polling stations. More than 35 thousand observers from political parties, international observers, representatives of mass media attending the counting of votes at the polling stations.

 

During the election, the Central Election Commission did not receive any information on violations of the electoral law.

 

Tomorrow, on 30 March, media briefing, which will announce the preliminary results of elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will take place. On the same day, international observer mission will also hold press conference.
