The OSCE/ODIHR training in Istanbul

According to invitation of the OSCE/ODIHR the member of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan Mahamadjan Hodjaev and the head of the press-service of the CEC Nizamitdin Nurmatov from 4 to 8 June 2012, took part in the educational Training for Long-Term Observers, which was held in Istanbul (Turkey). There were representatives of 17 OSCE participating states: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Croatia, Montenegro, and also from Tunisia - OSCE partner country.

Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) - is the primary organization responsible for facilitating the promotion of human rights and democracy in the OSCE area. The reason ODIHR election observation is an invitation of the country, conducting elections. The presence of observers, both foreign and national increases the electoral process for states in which elections are held. During the existence of the OSCE/ODIHR are carried out 230 observations of the elections in the 53 OSCE participating states.

This training was the third such event, which provides skills training in the mission of OSCE/ODIHR observers as a long-term observers, including the objectives, organization and methodology of the international election observation. The training was held using interactive methods based on an analysis of experience ODIHR election observation in different countries.

Upon completion of training, participants were awarded certificates of long-term observer, the OSCE/ODIHR.
